WHAT IS THE ORIENTATION SERVICE?

The Orientation Service is provided by Universities to accompany students in a continuous and dynamic process of choices and paths that starts from High School and continues throughout the period of attending university courses, with constant attention to the phases of joining the University, the years of study in university education, and transition to work.

The orientation activity takes place through promotion initiatives, information, training and advice to facilitate students to prevent or reduce problems that hinder the successful completion of studies.

The orientation service is divided into three areas, that correspond to the key-steps of the university path. These steps include:

  • The choice of the Degree Course (Orientation IN)
  • Support the student in the university path (Orientation IN ITINERE)
  • Accompanying to the world of work (Orientation IN EXIT).

WHY ENROL IN CHEMISTRY

How to Live Without Chemistry

Chemistry is part of our life, is everywhere. This is not a science of observation and pure speculation, but it is highly application. It is an engine of progress and modernity.
The Chemist, starting from the knowledge of the subject through processing, comes to the realization of ever more advanced products.
Everything that we use, we wear on, where we live, we drive, is produced through chemical reactions subsidiaries. The work consists then of chemical reactions that can transform existing chemicals in chemicals that meet the many needs of society.  That is the reason why the figure of Chemist will always be demanded.

With the achievement of the I level Degree in Chemistry is already possible to enter the world of work, although of course, with the achievement of the II level Degree  you can do with wider and diversified positions and responsibilities.  It is already certain that a third of employed in the chemical industry are graduates, compared with an average in other areas of one in ten.

It should be said that recent studies have shown nationally a decline in enrolments in courses of chemical nature. But this implies that in a few years the supply of graduates will almost certainly insufficient to fill the needs of Italian society, which like all societies based on high technology can not do without a professional figure so unique.

Graduates in Chemistry have different possibilities for inclusion in the world of work, both in the private sector, both in the public sector.

As for the industry, chemical industry is the one that offers the greatest potential for use, although it is not the only possible outlet.  Indeed graduates in Chemistry are also required by all those industries who want to improve the use, management and performance chemicals they buy.  For example in the pharmaceutical, agriculture, environmental protection, textiles, alimentary products, products for the building industry and those for the home, those for the automotive industry up to newer areas of research, such as biotechnology and nanotechnology in use in scientific laboratories even in criminology.

Chemists found job prospects also in services, as in the fields of environmental management and maintenance of facilities also for the disposal of waste or companies that deal with certification of management business second international standards.

Application for graduates in the chemical is also expressed by Public Administration. Just think of the Local Health Agencies or to the Regional Environmental Protection.

This means that job opportunities are also in geographical areas where there is not a strong presence of chemical companies.

Last but not least, of course, is always open the path of professional services with the opening of its laboratories and expert advice.  Activities, this, that to be done requires to be on the Professional Chemists' register subsequently passed a certification exam.
